American Biltrite recognized with two Nightingale Awards.

Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada – American Biltrite is proud to announce that its new Sonata® Elements™ striated textile Luxury Vinyl Tile collection received the Gold and Innovation Nightingale Awards in the “resilient flooring” category and was named the runner-up for the Best of Competition Award. Sonata Elements was recognized by distinguished jury members for its innovative concept, the realism of its modular carpet tile visual and its relevance for the current pandemic and beyond.
“It is truly an honour to receive these distinguished awards,” said Catherine Del Vecchio, Vice-president of Marketing. “Sonata Elements is praised by our customers for its elegance and performance and is now being recognized by the industry for its innovative concept and design. These awards are a tribute to our team’s dedication and attention to details over months of trial-and-error to achieve the most realistic carpet tile visual in an LVT.”
Launched in May 2020, Sonata Elements is an 18″ x 36″ Luxury Vinyl Tile collection featuring a 20-mil wear layer that combines the hygienic benefits of LVT with a striated textile visual inspired by modular carpet tiles. This versatile flooring line features 5 neutral base colours and 10 colour coordinated tone-on-tone and chromatic gradient accent tiles. The 15 tiles can be used monolithically or mixed allowing for functional wayfinding areas and unlimited flooring patterns.
Sonata Elements features a no-wax-for-life aluminum oxide polyurethane surface treatment, making it easy to clean and disinfect. Internal laboratory tests done on Sonata Elements tiles based on the ASTM 925 methodology showed no signs of surface attack, no colour change and no tarnishing after repeated disinfection using EPA-registered disinfectants effective against the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes COVID-19.
These two major awards add to the four awards and nominations Sonata Elements has received since its launch, including Architectural Record’s 2020 Product of the Year: Best in Class for flooring and the Buildings 2020 Product Innovation: Merit Award.
