1. Why do you call Stonescape and Viera tiles the ecological choice?
Stonescape and Viera tiles are made with crushed limestone, natural pigments and a new polymer containing no PVC (poly vinyl chloride), no VOCs (volatile organic compounds) and no plasticizers. A unique product in the world of resilient flooring! Both are made using two solvent-free ecological adhesives that comply with the SCAQMD 1168 standard, a standard to ensure that adhesives and sealants are not harmful to air quality.
2. Why don't your rubber floor coverings require the application of floor finishes?
Applying and maintaining a floor finish increases the overall cost of a floor. Our rubber flooring does not need any protection through the application of floor finishes, and should be used for its natural resiliency. To restore the floor to its original satin shine, simply dry polish it. This causes the wax that is actually part of the flooring to migrate to the surface.
3. Why is it so important to determine the relative humidity and pH of the cement base before installing a resilient floor covering?
Before you begin installation of a resilient floor covering, it is crucial to read the installation guide and the manufacturer's recommendations. This includes determining the moisture level and pH of the cement, as specified in the ASTM F-710 standard (Preparing Concrete Floors to Receive Resilient Flooring). Moisture or pH levels that are not within recommended levels could destroy the adhesive bond between the flooring and the cement.
4. What is it that makes Mirra and Luxury 500 floor coverings among the best on the market?
Mirra and Luxury 500 tiles are made with a unique assemblage of quality components, placing them among the best floor coverings in North America. These two high-end products are composed of five (5) protective layers: a protective PU layer, a transparent wear layer of 0.70/0.55 mm TPE, a decorative photogravure layer, an intensifier layer and a base layer. The heat and pressure curing used in the manufacturing process resists scratching and simplifies maintenance by eliminating the need to apply floor finishes. With their high content of recycled materials (45%) and natural minerals (50%), Mirra and Luxury 500 tiles are as ecological as possible for this type of flooring.
5. Why is it important to follow the instructions for preparing the floor?
Thorough inspection and preparation of the base floor are essential. Never begin the installation of resilient flooring until the installer has carefully determined the condition of the base floor and is completely satisfied. Any significant fault should be indicated and rectified.
