Floorscore

 

The majority of us spend our lives indoors - approximately 90% of our daily life is spent either at work at school or at home.  It is therefore important that these environments be made as healthy and comfortable as possible.  One area often taken for granted is the quality of indoor air where a number of factors such as inadequate ventilation, poor or infrequent cleaning, and excessive emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOC’s) can contribute to the quality of the air.

To address the area of VOC emissions, the Resilient Floor Covering Institute (RFCI) along with Scientific Certification Systems (SCS) developed the “FloorScore” program, the purpose of which is to test and certify flooring products for compliance with indoor air quality emission requirements that have been adopted in the state of California.

The following product categories have been tested and certified by SCS for compliancy to meet FloorScore requirements:
